Ever since I can remember, I've had a passion for creating images. Most of my inspiration comes from mythology, ancient cultures, nature and literature. I'm here to connect with other artists, give and get feedback and learn. Check out my work and let me know what you think!

Freya - The Ice Queen by LunarisLarva
Freya - The Ice Queen
Hello everyone and happy new year!

This piece goes with my previous upload and she is Emily Blunt's character, Freya or The Ice Queen, from the upcoming film 'The Huntsman'. The dress is from Alexander McQueen's posthumous collection for Fall 2010. I am extremely happy with the outcome and cannot wait to see the film in April!
2016 has found me feeling very creative and I'm already working on two major projects, the first of which has to be completed by February 11 so wish me luck!

Click here for the trailer of The Huntsman if you're interested! Hope you like the piece!

Have a wonderful day!

Ravenna - The Evil Queen by LunarisLarva
Ravenna - The Evil Queen
Hey everyone!

The trailer of The Huntsman came out a few weeks ago and I was instantly inspired to draw Charlize Theron as The Evil Queen. Used a still from the trailer as reference for the face, hair and crown. The dress is from Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 just a little customized. And, of course, my obsession with ravens was a perfect fit for this piece seeing as Ravenna is always surrounded by them both in Snow White and the Huntsman and in the upcoming film, judging from the trailer. I'm very happy with the outcome and already working on a piece of her sister, Freya or the Ice Queen, portrayed by Emily Blunt so stay tuned! In the meantime, you might want to check out the trailer by clicking here!

Have a great day!

Hello, dA!

Finished this piece just yesterday and I am so happy with the outcome. I used Kate Moss as the face reference and the whole piece is heavily inspired by McQueen. The dress is from his S/S 2001 collection titled VOSS, worn by Erin O'Connor in the show.  I've had this idea of drawing a rib cage as a headpiece for years now and it finally happened. It initially materialized as just a face sketch of Kate Moss with the ribcage many months ago and I decided to revisit it last month. The background is based on what a fjord looks like. I find them incredibly beautiful. Ravens are quite possibly my favourite birds and I thought they would be a great fit for this piece. The whole theme of this piece is vulnerability as courage and how we need to stop looking at it as weakness. In the words of Brené Brown: 'Vulnerability is our most accurate measurement of courage.' Hence the ribcage which guards the heart being worn on her head and the raven digging its claws in her shoulder. At the same time, I love how strong she ended up looking in the midst of all that. We need to stop looking at strength and vulnerability as opposite notions because they are very much connected.

Hope you like this as much as I do!

Hello there!

I haven't updated my journal in over a year so I guess I'm doing it now. There's a lot going on at the moment mainly because I moved and I'm trying to settle in my new place.
When it comes to my art, I'm getting back to it today and hopefully I'll get to finish my latest piece. Other than that I've been feeling really inspired to do more Tolkien artwork especially after my Arwen piece. So that's definitely one of my future projects.
dA is great and I've discovered so many wonderful, inspiring people here! The only thing that slightly bothers me is that I'd like to receive more feedback on my work. I wrote about this in a journal a few years ago and I've been joining groups etc so if you have more advice on how to get your work out there leave a comment! :)

So that's my short life update, stay tuned for new art!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone!

So the Lord of the Rings(both the books and the films) have been a huge part of my childhood and creative development. I have been so influenced by Tolkien's writing and the way Peter Jackson's films brought it to life. Arwen was one of the first fictional characters I was inspired by both spiritually and visually. There couldn't have been a more perfect casting choice for Arwen than Liv Tyler. Her performance was beautifully haunting and as if she was born to play that role. I'm always rereading and rewatching and finding inspiration in the world of Tolkien. The image I chose to use as reference for this drawing is a still from the famous Arwen's Fate scene in The Two Towers where Elrond is urging his daughter to sail to Valinor because there is nothing left for her in Middle Earth but death. Liv Tyler's performance combined with the incredible score and photography has created what I consider one of the most iconic and beautiful scenes in film history or at least in the past 20 years.

I intend on doing more Tolkien fan art sooner or later so stay tuned!
